Bill Close has served in a variety of roles during his 35 years at WENDT and holds Bachelor of Science degrees in industrial engineering and computer science. His career has spanned a wide area of non-ferrous technology developments ranging from Z-Box concentration of automobile shredder residue (ASR) to wet recovery systems, to eddy current systems, to the addition of sensors at the end of the plants to replace hand-picking.
For the last 22 years Close has led WENDT’s process and technology efforts developing non-ferrous recovery and sorting systems from ASR with a strong focus on proper application of sensor-based sorting.
